The chamber allows for the oxygen treatment of several people at a time, with a chamber and antechamber. It is equipped with an airlock for the provision and exchange of material and it also has an intercom link with the outside. It belongs to the Federacion Canaria de Actividades Subacuaticas, providing specialised medical assistance and an attendant on 24-hour call.
HYPERBARIC Oxygenation (HBO) can be used to treat not only decompression sickness but also a number of other conditions including smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. It has even been known to help cure sports injuries.
